We are proud to announce the Hueman Photography Contest and welcome the works of visionary photographers from around the globe. The contest seeks to gather photography that captures the human life, experience and environment in a creative and compassionate manner.

The Hueman initiative is a project of the Dawn Breakers International Film Festival, a non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing and showcasing films with a “world-embracing” vision. The goals of the Hueman photography project are the same with that of the film festival and only differ in the medium of expression.

The finalists, chosen from among all the entrants at the end of the contest, will go on to be showcased in the upcoming film festival(s) while also being published online and in print. The Hueman Photography Contest is now accepting submissions in six (6) general and two (2) special categories.

Plastic and Glass, by Teesa Joosse, is a film documenting the process of separating and recycling the waste from what we consume. It shows how tedious the process is and how much of a routine people live in. This film is accompanied by a song made by the steady rythmic sounds of the recycling center and the workers’ singing about their work. Plastic and Glass opens your eyes to how much we consume and the byproducts of those products. Overall, this film has positive a feel while still portraying its message: we waste too much.
