PHOENIX, Ariz.—Attendees from around the  United States and other parts of the world gathered at the Marriott Hotel on Dec. 27 and 28 for the debut of the Dawn Breakers International Film Festival (DBIFF).  Over the course of two days, about 500 festival attendees viewed an eclectic array of films in genres such as animation – Uncle Hathi; music videos – Armed, Son Maloso; documentaries – The Wayfarer, Corde, Donkey In Lahore, A boy from Jenjarom; short films – The Gallery, Ardia, Justice, The Prayer, Choke, and television shows such as Tsehai Loves Learning and Little Mosque on the Prairie. These selected films came from all over the world such as India, Australia, United States, Spain, United Kingdom, Cambodia, France, Malaysia, Hungary, Pakistan, Canada and Ethiopia.

The overarching purpose of the DBIFF is to “let your vision be world embracing” and its mission statement is threefold: to encourage  filmmakers throughout the world to contribute to the advancement of a New Civilization via film, to introduce and recognize Bahá’í filmmakers and/or Bahá’í-themed films from all over the world, and to invite and encourage industry professionals and the general public to participate in the process.

The DBIFF is a traveling festival and will be touring around the world henceforth.  Upcoming events, list of our official selections and other updates will be posted on the DBIFF website at www.dbiff.com.
