Jeanne Decourval, a middle-aged portrait painter, keeps ignoring the letters from the hospital adressed to the previous tenant of her flat, annoncing a very serious disease.

Although her neighbour is acting more and more stangely, her paintings starring at her, Jeanne stays in denial. Until she meets the previous tenant.
